HELIX STAINLESS STEEL SELF-DRILLING WOOD SCREW

THE SCREW FOR SECURING DECKING PLANKS AND WOOD WITHOUT PRE-DRILLING.

HelixTM self-drilling wood screws offer a high-tech asymmetrical thread design that reduces insertion time and effort drastically.

Also featuring a patented SIT-drive design that is similar to a Torx head but is tapered, providing more contact points inside the head of the screw, that enables accurate screw placement and the best torque transfer for easier insertion and extraction.

HELIXTM GLENDEKTM SELF-DRILLING WOOD SCREW

Reduced countersunk head Ø7.5mm. The head can be sunk very easily and cleanly with a small diameter. The nibs allow for easy, clean countersinking while picking up protruding chips. With hardwoods, countersinking of the surface is recommended, as the wood has very short chips. They are ideal for decking applications, securing without pre-drilling even with planks of hardwood.
Serrated shank grips decking/floor boards.

Stocked sizes:

5.5 x 40 5.5 x 60
5.5 x 45 5.5 x 70
5.5 x 50

HELIXTM GLENPLUSTM SELF-DRILLING WOOD SCREW

Flat head, course thread, SIT®-drive screw with nibs. Drill tip, thin shank and ‘nibbed' head make this fastener particularly suited for use in MDF, particleboard or solid wood practically eliminating splitting. Nibs also allow easy, clean countersinking into melamine board.
Asymmetrical thread pitch and lubricating coating reduce insertion time drastically.

Stocked sizes:

4.5 x 35 4.5 x 70
4.5 x 40 6.0 x 70
4.5 x 50 6.0 x 100
4.5 x 60

HELIXTM SIT®-DRIVE BITS

With the SIT®-drive system James Glen offers the safest, most stable and solid screw bit for the professional assembler. It combines all the advantages of Phillips, Torx and Pozi drive bits but offers more contact points between the screw head and the bit enabling accurate and quick screw placement. The no-come-out design prevents screw head damage, contributing to longer bit life.

Each box of HelixTM screws includes one SIT®-drive bit. Additional bits are available through James Glen.

YOUR ADVANTAGES

Grooved shaft
40% Greater Hold - Asymmetrical thread pitch and lubricated coating reduce the insertion time and effort by up to 40%.

Provides for additional screw strength, as austenitic stainless steel (A2, A4) cannot be hardened. This virtually eliminates the possibility of the screw tearing off.

Countersunk head with milling nibs
The head can be sunk very easily and cleanly with a small diameter, providing attractive finish to the job. The milling nibs pick-up and clean away protruding chips to give smooth finish to the wood surface.

Drilling tip
Sharp tip makes initial placement and entry into material precise and stable.

SITTM drive connection
Excellent snug fit of the bit in the screw drive creates optimum ‘nesting' preventing cam-out. Wobbling impacts and sliding of the bit from the screw is prevented when screwing in.

Note:
Pre-drilling of hardwood may be necessary depending on the degree of moisture in the wood.
It is recommended that the application device (e.g. battery-operated driver) is operated at low speed/high torque. Due to the high specific density of hardwoods, a high speed leads to overheating of the screw, and therefore to material fatigue.
