Glen loch nuts are an
all stainless steel locking nut for use in applications where
vibration is an issue and heat, and or chemical attack preclude
the use of nylon or other plastic inserts.A Glenloch®
nut is as easily engaged on a bolt thread as a standard nut
until the locking insert engages. At this point the insert is
elastically distorted between the adjacent thread flanks,
exerting enough force to resist loosening. This is a constant
force loaded against the shoulder of the bolt thread negating
the loosening effects of vibration.
